For Prospective Pilots

PRIVATE PILOT (PPL)

ABOUT

Our “Learn to Fly” course consists of around 80 hours of total on-site education – this satisfies the minimums and provides you the training that you need. The majority of that time is going to be in a Cessna 172, Cessna 150 or simulator and the rest is going to be on the ground and in the classroom. Students learning to fly with Flight School Jackson have unlimited access to practice in our on-site simulators.

At Flight School Jackson, we understand that the cost of flight training is an important consideration. Private pilot training costs can vary depending on factors such as the number of flight hours needed, ground school materials, instructor fees, and aircraft rates. Flying regularly and studying at home shortens the amount of time in the air and time with an instructor on the ground substantially. Flying a minimum of two, 3-hour lessons per week, a student can expect to have their certificate in approximately 3 months.
